Thermo-Tech Windows is accepting applications for full-time/permanent employees as Assemblers/Machine Operators for the first shift, building windows and patio doors. The Assembler/Machine Operators are expected to perform a wide variety of fabrication functions in accordance with quality, quantity, and safety standards. 

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately and completely finish window and patio door orders that meets or exceeds the production standards in accordance with standard work instructions.
  • Operate fabrication equipment to produce parts to required specifications.
  • Follow approved quality practices and suggest improvements.
  • Meet production goals by posted line standards.
  • Perform quality checks using tape measures down to a 1/16 in.
  • Provide and assist with training personnel.
  • Must be flexible to work in other departments as needed and display a positive attitude.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated, focused, organized employee who can work in a team environment or independently.
  • Be able to work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will work under the guidance of the Operational Excellence Manager and in conjunction with the Production Leadership Team to coordinate improvement opportunities in quality, capacity, lead time, inventory, and safety through lean problem-solving methodologies. This individual with the help of others, will drive continuous improvements in plant operations and help support change and foster cooperation.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates process improvement projects and monitors existing and new business process or improvement opportunities in quality, capacity, lead time, inventory, and safety through lean problem-solving methodologies.
  • Provide technical assistance to production to promote safety, enhance efficiency, and continuously improve the capacity and product quality.
  • Work with production and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvements in plant operations. Support change and foster cooperation.
  • Develops and manages multiple processes, long and short-term, sustainable, lead-related visual action plans to key projects implemented.
  • Implement capital projects and process improvements.
  • Tracks, measure, and reports progress on improvement activities related to business plan, goals, and issues.
  • Develops reports on activities and makes presentations to management on the status of initiatives and difficulties.
  • Coach, mentor, and work with employees at all levels throughout the company to achieve Operational Excellence.
  • Conducts special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
BS/BA Engineering degree in a technical discipline, preferably Industrial, Quality or Mechanical or a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Continuous Improvement Deployment, TOC, Lean, Six Sigma – Certification
  • Must have proficient skills with spreadsheets, email, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Project management experience
  • Independently manage complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Software.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally work under pressure, in a team environment, with frequent changes in deadlines and priorities

Customer Service Representative

Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative acts as the primary inside contact for all assigned accounts. Duties include processing orders and quotes, answering product-related questions, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. The Customer Service Representative has a thorough knowledge of current and past Thermo-Tech products and services and serves as an inside resource for product knowledge and company policies and procedures. The Customer Service Representative is a resource for Customer training and product demonstrations.

Essential Functions:

  • Enters Customer Orders, Quotes and Service (received via phone, fax, and e-mail) accurately and timely into Thermo-Tech’s computerized manufacturing system.
  • Produces accurately and timely AutoCAD drawings of window & door configurations as required by the individual customer orders and quotes.
  • Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of Thermo-Tech’s product offering and process as a means to facilitate effective workflow and professional communications with both external customers and internal personnel.
  • Facilitates customer communications, accurately answering and resolving customer order and product performance concerns while escalating issues as needed.
  • Acts as back up for department personnel to include processing of incoming phone calls, distribution and processing of mail, printing of invoices, faxing and filing of service and customer orders.
  • Aids in the development and delivery of training on Thermo-Tech’s product offering and process for both external customers and internal personnel. External customer delivery will include travel and possible overnight stays for tradeshows/exhibits.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent or two-year post-secondary degree preferred
  • Five years customer service experience without a two-year degree or two years’ experience with a two- year degree.
  • Computer knowledge especially with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Highly motivated, focused, organized employee who can work in a team environment or independently
  • Able to multitask
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate to and train others

The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of windows and patio doors in such a manner that maintains and promotes excellent customer relations. The Delivery Driver will deliver to local lumber yards and job-sites throughout MN and into the edges of WI, ND, SD, and IA. Some overnight trips may be required but would be very infrequent. Moderate to heavy lifting is required.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: Two Years previous delivery experience preferred

Licensing and Certification:

  • Must have valid MN Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical Certification is required
  • Class A CDL endorsement preferred but not required

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
  • Customer relations skills and ability to effectively communicate
  • Must meet company DMV records standards

Shipping Coordinator

Shipping Coordinator

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and overseeing the deliveries of outbound freight. This includes providing the proper paperwork, communicating with Customers, and resolving logistical issues as they arise in a fast-paced environment. The Shipping Coordinator will also play a valuable role in the continuous improvement and lean processes changes within the shipping department.

Essential Functions:

  • Scheduling and routing product deliveries by developing and executing a load building plan for all outbound shipments
  • Coordinating the requirements for other transportation modes – courier (i.e.; SpeeDee; FedEx); and consolidation (common carriers – LTL – i.e.; XPO, YELLOW, etc.).
  • Assuring trucks are not overloaded and that all loads fall within standard weight limits for each vehicle
  • Assessing job-site delivery requirements and assigning appropriate delivery vehicles and carriers
  • Resolving all vehicle safety issues by routing vehicles to the appropriate service facilities for needed repairs, and ensuring all repairs are properly completed and documented.
  • Assuring that the company drivers maintain their HOS logbook and DVIR correctly as per the requirements of the company and DOT.
  • Ensures shipping compliance with state, federal and international regulations.
  • Keeping Commercial customers informed of delivery status
  • Ensuring that all drivers’ CDL licenses are current and informing drivers when their licenses or medical cards need to be updated
  • Assists with the licensing of company owned trucks and trailers. Coordinates the maintenance of equipment and assures that the equipment files are maintained per DOT requirements.
  • Participating in the hiring of drivers and material handlers as well as their performance management
  • Scheduling new equipment training for drivers and ensuring they are fully certified to operate the equipment
  • Handle “Will Call” order process
  • Coordinates customer returned product shipments. Communicate and resolve issues with Customer Service.
  • Verify that all transportation provider’s invoices and associated paperwork comply with company contracted rates and requirements
  • Planning and completion of documentation such as pick lists, bills of lading, work orders and shipping orders using computer-based technology.
  • Assisting with process improvement projects and lean procedures.
  • Assisting with picking of miscellaneous window components and/or truck loading as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: 

  • Three years in logistics / transportation coordination
  • Three years of factory related experience in warehouse or distribution

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to lead a work group.
  • Shipping and Receiving experience
  • Ability to organize and prioritize time to balance conflicting demands.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of staff.
  • Customer service focus with the ability to build and maintain strong working and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player.
  • Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency with:
    • Microsoft Office Products (or similar programs)

This position is responsible for loading and unloading of company vehicles in accordance with safety, quality, and quantity standards. This position is also responsible for the accurate, safe, and efficient movement and storage of materials to support the business needs of the warehousing operation.

Essential Functions:

  • Optimally load trucks by hand in an organized and safe manner
  • Ensure all products are scanned accurately to the truck
  • Monitors product constantly to assure quality standards are being met and rejects product that does not meet quality standards
  • Utilizes computer equipment to complete orders on staging computer, look-up information, scan windows, and enter tag information
  • Ensure correct shipping of products to our customers occurs safely, accurately, and damage free
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly, timely, and accurately including quality reports, timecards, etc.
  • Assemble shipping crates and prepare common carrier shipments as directed, taking care to package product to effectively guard against shipping damage
  • Be able to work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
  • Engage in cross-training to maintain flexibility and adaptability to support the department functions
  • Operate manufacturing equipment and use hand tools a required
  • Support a respectful workplace

Qualifications:

  • Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and standing for extended periods
