Thermo-Tech Premium Windows and Doors
  • Why Thermo-Tech

    Why Thermo-Tech

    Proven energy efficiency.
    Exceptional design flexibility.
    Maintenance-free durability.

At Thermo-Tech, we understand that your house is more than a shelter from the elements. It’s a reflection of your style and your values. Whether remodeling or building a new home, trust our seasoned staff and experienced dealer network to help you transform architectural blueprints or even sketchy design ideas into the home of your dreams.

  • The Vinyl Advantage

Thermo-Tech Premium Windows and Doors are made of vinyl. It’s a sustainable, environmentally smart material that lasts. Building products made of wood or other plant-based materials sound “green” but they are less energy efficient than vinyl. Saving energy is good for the planet, and great for your wallet.

How do we do it? The space between the panes of glass and the air in the frame create your energy savings. To maximize our vinyl’s energy efficiency, Thermo-Tech uses an exclusive multi-chambered frame and sash extrusion design. It works like thermal breaks, creating insulating air pockets for improved energy efficiency and stability. Fusion welding at the corners adds more strength and durability as it counteracts contraction and expansion forces.

Here in central Minnesota, we know a thing about temperature extremes. Bitter cold. Stifling heat. Weather that can bully wood windows or other non-vinyl materials doesn’t bother us. Our high-quality vinyl handles it all. No warping. No twisting. Never flinching. Wood breaks down many times faster than vinyl. And that means wood windows need to be replaced more often—requiring even more energy consumption. But Thermo-Tech vinyl products won’t peel, chip, crack, blister or rot, and there’s no painting, no staining, no stripping,·or sealing. Just clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

Completely recyclable, vinyl simply makes environmental sense. Perhaps that’s why so many homeowners and builders across the country prefer vinyl windows. Americans have installed over 190 million new and replacement units, and we’re building more every day. What can we make for you?

Our 100% virgin polyvinylchloride (PVC) extrusion material:

    • Insulates for better energy efficiency than standard materials.
    • Holds more steady temperatures for greater comfort.
    • Requires no special cleaning, painting, sealing or other time-consuming maintenance.
    • Helps reduce heating and cooling bills.

  • Thermo-Tech Warm-Edge Technology

Look between the panes of glass for the clear difference in Thermo-Tech windows. We use warm-edge spacers, U-shaped channels of a patented alloy, placed neatly out of sight. Why bother if you won’t see them? For a better view! Our warm-edge spacers reduce interior condensation and cloudy glass.

Other window companies still use outdated cold-edge spacers, which quickly attract moisture on the pane in the right conditions—namely, when outdoor temperatures dip to 0°C or lower and interior humidity levels are 15% or higher. Small kitchen and bathroom windows attract condensation first, often growing mold and mildew. Worse yet, today’s new airtight homes release little water vapor, so high humidity levels are more common than ever.

Thermo-Tech improves the thermal efficiency at the edge of the glass and increases the overall insulation value. The improved energy efficiency greatly reduces the chance of condensation. Reassuring, especially for families with mold or mildew allergies. And our warm-edge spacers add structural integrity, retain argon gas very well, and protect the seal for energy savings. That’s technology at work.

Six Reasons Thermo-Tech Uses Warm-Edge Spacers

    1. Strength and durability in all types of weather
    2. Consistent quality in the manufacturing process
    3. Lower energy bills thanks to draft-blocking energy conservation
    4. Cleaner-looking windows without distorting reflections
    5. Flexibility to guard the sealant as temperatures vary night and day and winter to summer
    6. Condensation-reducing design to fight mold and mildew
  • ENERGY STAR® and Thermo-Tech Premium Windows and Doors

Thermo-Tech has combined advanced technology with traditional craftsmanship for window and door designs that perform beyond expectation—in all climate extremes. But to truly offer the best, we pushed our engineering further. That’s why Thermo-Tech is a voluntary partner with ENERGY STAR®, an independent government-backed program designed to help protect the environment through superior energy efficiency.

ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy-efficient products and practices.

Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved enough energy in 2009 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 30 million cars—all while saving nearly $17 billion on their utility bills.

Through the ENERGY STAR labeling system, consumers can see in black and white that Thermo-Tech products are some of the most efficient products on the market today. That protects the environment. And it protects your pocketbook through energy-cost savings. Thermo-Tech is proud to be part of the ENERGY STAR program, and nearly every window and door we sell can be ordered to meet ENERGY STAR guidelines.

To become ENERGY STAR qualified, windows, doors and skylights must be independently tested and certified by the National Fenestration Rating Council and labeled according to ENERGY STAR climate zones. Thermo-Tech tailors the components of our windows to work most efficiently where you live.

    ENERGY STAR Compliance

Indicates ENERGY STAR compliance for appropriate glazing zone.

The ENERGY STAR program was developed by the U. S. Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency to help consumers identify products that save energy. Requirements for windows are tailored to meet the energy needs of the country’s four climate zones: Northern, North/Central, South/Central and Southern. ENERGY STAR windows must be rated, certified and labeled by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) for U-Factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC).

  • Energy and Structural Performance Data

Thermo-Tech® Windows and Doors are thoroughly tested for structural and thermal performance to the most widely recognized national standards. This will ensure that our products provide a lifetime of reliable, energy saving performance.

When shopping, make sure to compare structural and thermal performance ratings to ensure that you are purchasing reliable, energy-efficient windows.

Our products are structurally tested to the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) window specifications. When comparing structural performance of windows look for the performance grade (PG). Performance grade is a window’s resistance to wind and rain. The higher the PG rating, the better.

Look for the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) label for an accurate method to compare a product’s energy performance and also ensure the windows are Energy Star® compliant in your area.

Compare the U-Factor and the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of the window. U-Factor is a measure of how well a window keeps heat inside a home or building in the winter. The lower the U-Factor, the greater the insulating value of the window. SHGC measures how well a window blocks heat caused by sunlight. The lower the window’s SHGC, the less solar heat is allowed into the home by the window.
